  • Split with Kalte Sonne (140 gr black vinyl)
    Record/Vinyl + Digital Album

140 gr black vinyl. Centering around an aquatic theme for this split EP, Alpaca teamed up with Spanish instrumental Post-Metal band, Kalte Sonne, from Lugo. On Alpaca's end, "Drown" emulates the three stages in which one can imagine the feeling of being submerged in violent water; "Breathless", Tranquility", and "Narcosis" make up these stages. On the flipside, Galician band Kalte Sonne (German for "cold sun") have worked out a wide expansive sonic space with "Mareira" in a flooding instrumental track that evokes strong emotion and builds and builds towards a big climax.

Includes unlimited streaming of Drown via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.

From the split with Kalte Sonne

lyrics

Submerged
Darkness from above
Suffocating
Into a wrong belief
Staring down
Into an empty space
Wading through
A dark and thick sludge

Water floods
Waiting for the time to drown

I feel breathless
Lungs are watered down
Heart is pounding
In an unknown corpse
The crown has fallen
Heroes die alone
No more suffering
Peace invades the soul

Water floods
Waiting for the time to drown

Swamp of feelings
Gone away at last
Wave across
A mirror of reality
Tears are falling
A cry for help is too late
Slow and painful
Death will take me away

Water floods
Waiting for the time to drown

My heart is drowning
Blackened is my soul

Narcosis

My heart is drowning
Blackened is my soul

Narcosis

ALPACA Shanghai, China

A current staple in the Shanghai heavy metal scene as well in sludge/doom circles in China, Alpaca delivers a sound that stands out from other local acts. Slow, groovy, sludgy, heavy, doomy, fuzzy, and bluesy are ways that fans have described the band’s style, in addition to incorporating styles such as stoner/desert rock, hardcore, and occasionally even black metal. ... more
